The name “Chattanooga” comes from the Creek Indian word for “rock coming to a point.” This refers to Lookout Mountain which begins in Chattanooga and stretches 88 miles through Alabama and Georgia. From rafting down an Olympic river to golfing on Bermuda fairways lined with soaring pine and hardwood trees; from hang gliding high above a mountain top to hiking through mountain laurel, Chattanooga offers outdoor adventures as rich and diverse as nature itself. Chattanooga also offers a wide variety of attractions. From the world's largest freshwater aquarium to the colossal boulders atop Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga's attractions are numerous and diverse.
